Prudhoe Community High School opened in 1958 with 350 students. In September 2016, the new school building opened, and the school is now a thriving, attractive and well-resourced school serving the community of Prudhoe and beyond with 778 current pupils and a capacity for 860 pupils, and 80 staff. The pupils age range is 14 to 19. The school consists of three buildings totalling 7,081.75 Square Metres;
•Main School at 6,487 Sqm
•Engineering Block at 331.5 Sqm
•Sports Block at 263.25 Sqm.

The main building is 6.5 years old, the second building dates from 2008, and the third building from approx. 2000

In 2019 the School academised, joining Tyne Community Learning Trust. Students describe the school as a happy community which is evident in the relationships between staff, students and parents / carers.
