Lyndon Green has a Forest School. A forest school is an educational model where children learn through hands-on, child-led play and exploration in a natural environment, such as a woodland. It is a long-term, holistic approach that emphasizes the development of self-esteem, confidence, and problem-solving skills through supported risk-taking in a regular, sustained contact with the outdoors. This is different from one-off nature trips, as it is a process-based philosophy that happens over an extended period. Our school values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment which prepares our pupils. Our five dispositions: perseverance, positivity, creativity, being adventurous and hard working underpin all aspects of school life. As of October 2025, we have 367 pupils between the ages of seven and eleven on roll , many of whom are entitled to Free School Meals. The value of the current catering contract is circa £172,500. The Client expects the successful Supplier to enable the continued development of catering through the provision of an innovative, healthy food service, with fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients being prepared. The contract covers the scope for the provision of catering services, which currently includes both morning break and lunch at margin, all hospitality and free issue requirements as at net cost.
