Pentrehafod has a strong inclusive ethos, supporting pupils from a wide range of cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds, and places significant emphasis on wellbeing, student voice and positive relationships across the school community. The school is recognised nationally for its commitment to inclusion, having been the first secondary school in Wales to achieve School of Sanctuary status, reflecting its welcoming approach to refugee and asylum-seeking families. Pentrehafod also hosts a Specialist Teaching Facility supporting pupils with additional learning needs, alongside well-established provision for learners with English as an additional language. The school’s ethos centres on developing pupils who are ready, resilient, respectful and safe, underpinned by high expectations and strong community engagement. The school places great value on their partnerships with parents and carers. They believe that pupils’ success is founded on forging positive relationships through mutual respect, and excellent teaching and learning experiences.
